Emilie Eskær
My education: Asger Lund Christiansen, Thorleif Thedéen at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and Frans Helmersson at the Hochschule für Musik in Cologne.
My favorite musical composition: Brahms symphonies and clarinet quintet. Puccini La Boheme, Madame Butterfly and Tosca. Prokofiev Romeo and Juliet. Bach Goldberg Variations. Sibelius symphonies no.2, 5 and 7. Schubert string quintet.
My greatest musical experience: The Sonning Prize concert with Sir Simon Rattle, the Valkure with the Royal Danish Orchestra and Kirill Petrenko, guest appearances at the Royal Theatre by Placido Domingo in the Valkure and Anna Netrebko in La Boheme.
My most memorable/funny/unusual experience in the Kapel: Tour to New York City with the Royal Danish Chamber Orchestra.
When I’m not playing in the Kapel: I love playing chamber music, particularly with the trio I have been a member of for 20 years: the Eskær Trio.
