My education: Diploma and soloist class at the Royal Danish Conservatory with Milan Vitek and Sergei Azizian. Performance Diploma, Oberlin, Ohio with Milan Vitek. I have also studied with Almita and Roland Vamos, Oberlin and David Takino, London.
My favorite composition: Violin concertos by Beethoven, Carl Nielsen and Shostakovich nr.1. Symphonies: Beethoven 7 and Carl Nielsen Expansive. Operas: Tosca, Madama Butterfly and La Boheme by Puccini. Frau ohne Schatten by Strauss. Ballet: Romeo and Juliette by Prokofiev.
My greatest musical experience: Playing the Alpine Symphony, great music by Strauss with Hartmut Haenchen and the Sonning Prize concert with Simon Rattle, who encouraged us to give everything we could, energy and expression-wise. The orchestra sounded wonderful.
When I’m not playing with the Royal Danish Orchestra: I have danced ballet for many years, though intermittently. I enjoy playing chamber music with my quartet and piano trio. I have an electric string quartet (the Messer Quartet) which plays new music, often by Danish composers
